Roulette is a casino game played on a table with the wheel and a roulette betting layout. On the wheel there are alternate pairs of odd and even numbers which are black and red. There is also green Zero and double zero in American roulette. 36 numbers on the table layout are arranged in three columns. Each column has 12 numbers. You can see all the possible bets in the table below.
What is called an ‘American’ roulette wheel has two zero slots which give the casino a much greater advantage than when a ‘European’ roulette wheel with only one zero slot is used. Which type of wheel is used impacts players because the house advantage differs; in the case of a single zero wheel the house advantage is 2.7%, meaning that the house is entitled to 2.7%of your winnings; in the case of a double zero wheel the house earns 5.26% of your winnings. Moreover, it is customary here to tip the croupier when you win. Different roulette tables offer different minimum and maximum bets.
Before every round can start, you need to place your wagers. You do this by selecting one of the coins located beneath the main board. Then, you place these coins on the board wherever you like. Coin value varies between $0.10 and $1000.
After you pick your coin, you need to decide what bet you want to do. When you mouse over a bet, it will highlight which numbers will be bet on, making it easier to plan out your wager. Each tile on the main board has a different maximum bet. For example, you cannot bet more than $100 on one number. However, if you’re betting on Odd/Even, you can stake $2000 per wheel spin without any issues.
Then, when you’ve sorted out all your bets, press the Spin button. This will cause the wheel to play an animation while the computer randomly picks a winning number. If your bet included that number, you will win a cash prize as a reward. The size of that reward depends on how risky the bet was.
You can click the Re-bet button to repeat the same spin you just played. However, if you’re going to keep playing the same bet over and over, Autoplay works better. You can set everything up, and then select the number of auto spins to be played. Then, you can just lean back and let the game do all the work for you!
PAYOUTS
Roulette is a game that favours the bold. If you play safe inside bets, you won’t win much. Red/Black, 1-18/19-36 and Even/Odd all pay 1:1 when won. Dozen and Column bets don’t fare much better, only awarding a 2:1 prize.
Meanwhile, inside bets pay better! The downside is you have a much lower chance to win them. Six line is the easiest of inside bets to score, and it only pays 5:1. Corner and Street bets are rarer, and reward 8:1 and 11:1 as a result. Splits can be won if your bet consists of only two numbers, and it will pay you 17:1. However, the best prize is correctly guessing the winning number – a Straight bet, which rewards a 35:1 prize!
When you play American Roulette, your aim is to predict the number the ball will stop. First you have to place a bet. To play you have to click Increase (+) or Decrease (-) buttons and select the chip size you want to bet. Then click the Spin button. The ball is dropped on the roulette wheel and then stops. If you have a winning number, your win amount will display in the Win box. If you lose, the game is over and you can start again.
